Hojari is our incense grade, celebrated for its fresh, sweet aroma, exceptional purity and rich concentration of essential oils. This grade is burned as incense, giving a rich, aromatic smoke used for hospitality, spirituality and creating an ambience of calm and elevation.
Grown in the mountain ranges of the Dhofar region of Oman, Hojari resin comes from native Boswellia sacra trees.
Alongside its aroma, frankincense has long been used as an insect repellent.
We supply Hojari to both retail and wholesale customers. For retail, we offer pouches in three sizes: 50g, 180g and 450g.
Delivery cost is shown at checkout. Spend £50 or more and standard delivery is free.
For wholesale and bulk orders, see our wholesale page or email info@theascentstore.com.
How to burn frankincense resin
How to burn frankincense resin
1. Place a heat-resistant burner on a safe, stable surface.
2. Light a charcoal disc until it glows red and place it in the burner for approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
3. Once the charcoal is hot and has turned grey, place small pieces of resin on top and let it release its fragrant smoke.
4. Rotate the resin on the coal to avoid over-burning, and move the burner around your space.
Caution: never leave burning incense unattended, and always ensure there is good ventilation.

Choosing between the grades
Hojari is our incense grade: the classic resin, burned on charcoal for a fresh, sweet, citrus-bright smoke.
Hojari Dhakar is our therapeutic grade: the green-tinged resin selected from the top of each harvest, with a higher concentration of essential oils. Traditionally chewed or infused in water as well as burned.
