Hojari and Premium Hojari
Hojari is our incense grade: the classic resin, burned on charcoal for a fresh, sweet, citrus-bright smoke. Retail pouches from 50g to 450g.
Premium Hojari is our therapeutic grade: the green-tinged resin selected from the top of each harvest, known among Omani harvesters as Dhakar, with a higher concentration of essential oils. Traditionally chewed or infused in water as well as burned. Retail pouches from 40g to 400g.
Both grades are available in bulk.
Where frankincense has always grown
Boswellia sacra grows across the Dhofar mountains of southern Oman, and the resin it produces has been traded out of this region for thousands of years. Hojari is the name given to the finest of it.
We supply Omani Hojari in two clearly separated grades, so retail customers and trade buyers know exactly what they are getting.
Questions, answered
What is the difference between Hojari and Premium Hojari?
Hojari is our incense grade, intended for burning. Premium Hojari is the green-tinged resin selected from the top of each harvest, known among Omani harvesters as Dhakar, with a higher concentration of essential oils; it is the grade traditionally chewed or infused in water as well as burned. Both are Omani Hojari from the same region.
How do I burn frankincense resin?
Light a charcoal disc and let it ash over until it glows grey rather than orange. Place one or two small pieces of resin on top with tongs — usually enough to scent a room for around twenty minutes. Always use a heatproof burner on a stable surface, and never leave burning charcoal unattended.
Where does your frankincense come from?
Our resin is Omani Hojari, from Boswellia sacra trees growing in the Dhofar region of southern Oman.
What are your wholesale quantities and pricing?
We supply both grades in bulk by the kilogram, scaling from larger multi-kilogram orders up to several hundred kilograms. Pricing is tiered by volume. Tell us the grade, quantity and destination and we will send a current price list.
Can I request a sample before ordering wholesale?
Yes. We send sample packs of both grades to trade buyers so you can assess colour, aroma and grade consistency before committing to a bulk order. Request one through the wholesale page.
